     all such sums of tobacco as hath been allowed and paid to the

     said John Salter for the Repairs or alteracöns of the said

     Court house at any time since the comeing of the sd Jno Salter

     To the said Court house & if the said Ino Salter doe performe

     all these things without fraud covin or delay that then the

     above obligacon shall be voyd or else remaine in full force.

     Ino Wests Know all men by these presents that we Ino

     Navall Officers Bond West of Pocomoke district in the Province aforesaid

             Gent, and Mr Arnold: E!zey & Mr Allexandr Kyle

     are holden & firmly bound unto his Exncy Frans Nicholson Esqr

     his Majtys Capt Genera, & Chief Governr of the said Province

     in the full & just sum of One thousand pounds of lawfull

     money of England to be paid to the said Francis Nicholson

     Esqr his Execurs Admrs or assignes, to the wch payment well &

     truly to be made, we bind our Sdves & either of us by him

     selfe our & either of our heires Exers and admrs Ioyntly and

     severally for the whole and in the whole firmly by these

     presents wittness our hands & Seales this 26th day of June

     Annoq Domini: 1697:

       The CondicOn of this obligation is such, that whereas his

     Exncy Francis Nicholson aforesd hath commissionated &

     appointed the said Iohn West, to be Navall Officer for the

     district of Pocomoke Wthifl the said Province by his Comission

     bearing equall date with these presents, Now if the said John

     West shall well and truly performe the said office according to

     the Severall acts of Parliament in that case made & provided

     and shall observe the directions contained in the acts of

     Assembly of this Province relating to the duty of Navall

     Officers and from time to time save defend and keep harmless

     the said Francis Nicholson Esqr from all damage loss and

     charges that he the said Francis Nicholson Esqr shall sustain p. 142

     at any time by reason of the said Wests nonperformance of

     his said office (so long as he shall enjoy the same) as in the

     said severall Laws is Enacted & ordained, then the above

     Obligacon to be voyd & of none effect, otherwise to be &

     remaine in full force & virtue
