Lib. H. D. much upon the Publick faith out of what Tobo is in the hands p. 594 of the Treasurer of the Western Shore accruing by the Act laying a Mulct upon Officers, as will defray the charge of that expedition. And whereas this Comittee have thought fitt to allow severall Sums of money to sundry persons imployed about the Court house amounting in the whole to the Sum of 48 lbs 02s 10d We likewise desire yor Exncy will upon the same faith borrow so much money of the publick Treasurers as will discharge the same. And we also desire yor EXnCY will upon the Publick faith, borrow four thousand pounds of tobacco of the Treasurer of the Eastern Shore to pay the like sum we find due to Mr Henry Denton. Also fifty four thousand four hundred & Seaventy seaven pounds of tobacco of both the Treasurers to be equally lodged in every Sherriffs hands to answer upon occasion, for the sd Sum lodged in Somrsett, Talbott and Caecill Counties Signed p Ordr W Bladen Clk of the Comittee.
Ordered that the money and Tobbo Represented to be due to severall persons for going upon the Indian treaty & to Workemen, Labourers &ca (as p List hereunto annext may appear) be paid proportionably by the Treasurers of the Eastern & Western Shore. And the tobacco out of that due by Act of Assembly from Publick Officers. And that there be borrowed of the said Treasurers the Sum of 54777 lbs of tobo more on the same fund to be paid to such persons as ought to receive the Sixty thousand pounds of tobacco levyable in the intervalls of Assemblyes &ca And now thought needful & Ordered to be Leveyed; and that the said sixty thousand pounds of tobacco so Ordered to be Leavyed be collected and lodged in every Sherriffs hands of the Government; or otherwise as the said Comitte shall think fitt, till an Assembly. And to the end due complyance may be made accordingly; the said Treasurers are forwith to take care that they gett the said Tobbo due from Publick Officers, speedily collected to lay ready. His Exncy not knowing how soon he shall have occasion to draw upon them for the last mentioned sume And tht where any Officer does refuse or delay payment they cause speedy process to be issued as the Law directs in that Case. Severall Vice Admiralty Commissions, pursuant to Order being prepared, Constituting a Judge Register and Marshall of his Majtes Court of Vice Admiralty on each side the Bay, were signed by his Exncy at the Board, and passed the Broad Seal of the Province.
