  Twenty men to be raised in Prince Georges County be also Lib. H. D.

  intire by themselves; to be Commanded by a Lieutent a

 

  Coronett & a Quarter master.

 

    That the thirty men to be raised in Caecil County and

  Thirty in Kent be each of them a Troop by themselves. That

  the fifty seaven men to be raised in Talbott County be di

  vided into two severall troops likewise. That the Thirty

  men to be raised in Dorchester County be also an intire

  iroop by it selfe & that the ffifty three men to be raised in

  Somersett County be divided into two severall Troops All

  wch Troops are each of them to be Comanded by a Capt a

  Lieutent and a Coronett and a Quarter master. That each

  Troop be divided into three squadrons Vizt The Captain and

  the Quarter master (who is to attend the Captain) the

  Lieutent and the Cornetts squadrons, wch Officers are to keep

  the Arms & Ammunition for each Squadron of men, who are

  not to make use of any of the said ammunition but upon

  service.

    That the field Officers (after the said Officers and men are

  raised) do send a List of the names of the said Officers and

  Men, and of the quantity of Arms and Ammunition lodged

  wth each Officer; and tht care be taken the sd men be fre

  quently exercised and train'd.

    It being considered that the severall Ordts given for raising

  men towards the strengthening the ifrontiers of this his Majtes

  Province of Maryld cannot well be prepared so tht the

  Colonells of the Counties may receive them to putt the same

  in Execution, under a week or tenn dayes time, whereby the

  Countrey may be putt in some posture of defence.

    Ordered therefore that the gentlemen appointed to go to

  his Exncy Sr Edmund Andros in Virginia set not forward their

  Iourney before munday next come sennight.

    Vpon the Petition of Nehemah Covington of Somersett

  County therein humbly praying a Coinission for being Inter

  preter &ca betwixt the English & Indians.

    Ordered tht the sd Covington be constituted & Empower'd

  and he is hereby accordingly appointed, constituted & Em

  powered to be Genrll Interpreter for this Government upon

  any treaty to be made wth the Indians on the Eastern Shore,

  and that no other person presume to take upon him tht

  Office besides; hereby empowering the Honoble Coll Charles

  Hutchins of Dorchester County to administer an oath to the

  sd Nehemiah Covington faithfully to discharge his duty

  therein, whensoever he shall by any authority be thereunto

  called or required.

    Vpon Representation, Ordered that Henry Moor of Charles

  County be constituted and empower'd and he is hereby
