Lib. H. D. Lastly it is Ordered that one of the old Rangrs go with each of the said new Raised fforces to shew them the Woods, and tht others be left in their stead at the Garrison.
ffrontier Plantations vpon Ordered tht Notice be given to the ifrontier Potomock to Plantations vpon Potomock that they be vpon have Notice to their Guard & stragle not from their Plantations; be vpon their Guard &c: care being taken to strengthen them by an Additionall Supply of Rangers.
Rangrs in Bal Ordered that the party of Rangrs in Baltemore County (upon this Noise of Indians) keep good Watch look Watch & looke well after their horses; and tht well after their horses and they keep them together in or near to the ffort clear away to and Clear a broad way down to the Spring & the Spring keepe Ranging pursuant to the late Ordr sent
them.

Indian being lately Seized vpon suspicion of being made privy to the late Murther comitted at the Garrison, at the p. sso head of Potomock was brought before this Board & Exam id. Then produced & Read the Examination of Coll Ninian Beal & Deposition of Thomas Ryley in that behalfe Whereupon the following Commitmt was by Ordr issued, Viz
By his Exncy the Govr & Councill, October 3d 1697. Woodcough Whereas a certain Mattapany Indian called an Indian his Commitmt Woodcough, being lately Seized & Apprehended vpon Suspicion of being made privy to the late Muther committed at the Garrison, at the head of Potomock, who having been Examined at this Board, together with Coll Ninian Beal & one Thomas Ryley of Prince Georges County, Evidences in this matter, whereby it is greatly to be sus pected that the sd Indian holds correspondence with the Piscattoway Indians, supposed Enemies to his Maty & this Governmt and tht in all probability he is knowing of the parties tht did tht Murther Ordered therefore that the Sheriff of Ann Arrundell County do (upon sight hereof) Receive into his custody the body of the sd Woodcough herewith sent, and him in close &. safe custody keepe, vntill he shall thence
