   be delivered by due course of Law; for which this shall be Lib. H. L.

   sufficient warrant, Given from the Councill Board the day &

   year above written.

   Then was the following Summons by Ordr issued; Vizt

  

  

   By his Exncy the Govr & Councill, October 3d 1697.

   Sffe. of Prince Georges County Ordered that the Sherriff of Prince Georges

           County do (vpon sight hereof) Sumons Coll

           Ninian Beal, Hugh Ryley & Thomas Ryley his

   Order'd to Sumon Evidences agt the Son to be & Appear before the Justices of the

   Indian  Provinciall Court the 12th of this instant October

   Woodcough

           to testify the truth of their knowledg, in behalf of

   his Maty what they know concerning one Woodcough a

   Mattapany Indian, now in custody of the Sherriff of Ann-

   Arundell County. And tht he Summons all other persons, as

   he shall vnderstand can give any Accot of the sd Indians

   having had late communication with other Indians &c: to be &

   appear to the end & purpose aforesd

    His Exncy Signifying his intentions of going to the honble

   Coll Addisons in the Morning is pleased to direct tht his honr

   Sr Thomas Laurence Baront Secry take Care to give Answer

   to any Business tht may come in the interim; and tht if any p. 551

   thing of extraordinary import should happen before his

   Return, he may have speedy Notice thereof.

    His Excy is pleased to demand of the Board, if they can

   Advise anything further to be done for his Matys Service in

   this Affair about the Indians, who Say they cannot.
