Whereas it is Reprsented unto his Exncy how that the Mattr depending in the Commissary's Office in relation to the Estate of John Abbington decd: is not yet made an End off and being very Sensible that Mr James Cranford Attorney at Law and one of the ffirst admrs has dealt very disingeniously and dishonestly from ffirst to last in the Managemt of that Concern and still persists so to doe, whereby the sd Estate is (by his Sinister and self Ends) utterly wasted and Ruin'd; His Exncy has thereon (in his Mats Name) thought fit to declare that he does Suspend and debarr the sd James Cranford from prac ticeing as an Attorney in all the Courts of this his Mats Prov ince, unless it be to ffinish and make an End of what Causes he is at present Concern'd in; and he is hereby (in his Mats Name) debarr'd his Practice accordingly. Whereof as well the Justices of the Provll as County Courts of this Province and all other persons Concern'd are to take due Notice and not Suffer him to plead or undertake any New Causes in any of the sd Courts as they will Answer the Contrary at their p. 542 Perrill.
By his Exncy the Governr Augt 16th 1697. Vpon Information rëcd: that there are two outlying Negroe's a Man and a Woman that have lately been seen within ffour or ffive Miles, of the port of Annapolis, betwixt South River and Seavern in Arrundell County, who stand in Open defyance, the Man being Arm'd with a Gun and threatens the Death of any person that Offers to Come nigh him. Ordered that Capt Philip Howard of the County do (upon Sight hereof) Raise the Neighborhood about him and goe in Search of the sd two Negroes within the Necks of Land lying betwixt those Rivers, and (if to be found) that he Apprehend them by fforce, and Safely secure and Convey them to the Port of Annapolis aforemention'd in Ordr to be deliver'd up into the Custody of the Sherriff there to be Close Confined till the Ownr or Ownrs of the Same come for them and make Satisfaction according to Law And it is hereby further Ordered that in Case of the Sd Negros further Roving and that they should not be met with in these parts the two parties of Rangers in Baltemore and Potomock take due Care and heed that they slip not by those partes which by Law and particular Instructions they are Enjoyned to Range, but that they Vse their Endeavour to ffind out, Seize and appre hend them, in Ordr to be Safely sent down to the port of Ann apolis aforesd there to be deliver'd up as aforesd.
