Lib. H. D. ting the sd Office and place of Commissary and Clerk, and that Robt Smith Esq be Constituted and Commissionated Commissary Genll in his Stead and provide another Clerk and that a Comission issue accordingly. Ordered that an Express be sent for the sd Robt Smith Esq to Come to the Port of Annapolis forthwith and Receive his Commission and possession of the sd Office and he is hereby (upon sight hereof) required to Come accordingly, Severall persons having Business depending in the Commissary's Office being called in, were asked how long they have attended who Say that some have tended one day some two days. Ordered that Mr Cheseldyn dispatch the Business and Officiate his Office together with Mr Bouije till Mr Smith Comes to Town. Upon Motion of Coll: John Hinson and Majt Thomas Smith of Kent County Concerning the New Commission of Peace sent to that County the sd Majr Smith was Ordered to be left P. 54° out of the Prov” Commission and the sd County Commission alter'd and the following Commission Constituted Vizt Mr Wm ifrisby Coll: John Hinson, Lt Coll: Hans Hanson, Majr Tho: Smith, Capt James Smith Mr John Whittington, Mr Charles Hinson Capt Thomas Ringold and Mr Philip Hopkins,
At the Port of Annapolis Augt the 9th 1697. Memorandum this day his Exncy Recd: Talbot County Com mission of the Peace, sent by Express from the sheriff of that County to which was by Ordr added Mr John Needles and Mr Edward James at the Motion and Instance, of the honrble Coll: George Robotham formerly Signifyed by Letter from Mr Nicho Lowe of the 14th of July last past which was afterwards returned back by the Messenger that brought it. At a Councill by Speciall Appointmt met and held at the Port of Annapolis the 10th day of Augt 1697.
