Procl abt the House of Delegates for their prusall Ordered Capt Every that Copyes of the said Proclamacon and Lords Order'd to be sent to each Letter touching the sd Every and Pirates be sent
County to be to the Severall Counties of the Province to be published made publick and that a Proclamacon be prepared
to issue, Comanding due and Strict observance of the same was accordingly done aud followes in these Words Vizt
By his Exncy the Capt Genll &ca A Proclamacon. Maryland ss. His Excys Procl abt Whereas the Rt hone the Lords of his Mats Capt Every & most honrble privy Councill have by Letter of the other Pyrats &c: 27th of August past Signifyed unto me how that one Henry Every alias Bridgman with divers other persons English and fforreignrs having Run away with the Ship Charles the Second alias the Phancy had Committed Severall Acts of Piracy in the Seas of India and Persia &Ca and that their Exncys the Lords Justices of England had thereupon thought fit by Proclamation in his Mats Name to require all his Mats Admlls Comanders and other Officers at Sea and all Governrs Comanders and other Officrs whatsoever in his Mats Plantacons to Secure and Apprehend the sd Henry Every alias Bridgman and other persons Nam'd in the Proclama tion and such others as were with them in the sd Ship and whereas by further Information Given their sd Lordps that divers Pyrates and Sea Robbers have of late years gone from Severall parts of his Mats plantacons in America to the Seas of India and Persia and other Remote parts upon the like Piraticall designes and that some of them have Return'd home again and dispersed themselves in his Mats plantacons with great quantities of Gold and other plunder, have Directed and Commanded that all such Pirates and Sea Robbers should be Seized and Apprehended &ca A Copy of which Letter and Proclamation aforemention'd is herewith Sent and whereas by a Clause in another Letter by me Reed: p. 514 from the Rt honrble the Lords of the Councill for Trade and fforreign Plantacons bearing date at Whitehall the ffirst day of ffebry last, their Lordships have been pleasd to Signifye his Mats pleasure to the respective Governrs of all his Plan tacons be very Carefull that noe Pyrates or Sea Robbers be any where Shelter'd or Entertain'd under the Severest penalties a Copy of which Clause is likewise herewith sent in pursuance of which Sd two Letters and Proclamation I doe hereby in his Mats Name Strictly Charge and Cornand all Officers Military & Civill and all other his Mats Loving
