Ord'd That Mr Michaell Miller Mr Tho: Ennalls Mr Iacob
Loockerman Mr Tho: Waughop Mr Benja Hall Mr Iohn Boz-
man Mr Ion Lowe Mr Iames Smalwood Mr Philip Briscoe &
Mr Tho: Hicks Carry the said Message & prsent to his Excy in
Council who returne and say they have Deliverd there
Message.
The Honble Ion Hammond & ffrancis Jenkins Esqrs Enter
the house and Bring back these following Bills Viz.
A Bill for the height of fences &c
A Bill Impowering the Corn's of the County Corts &c raise
money &c.
A bill for highways & makeing the heads of Rivers wth the
following Remarke
Vpon the reading & Considering the Bill for Marking
highways &c It is Conceived that the Bill obliges Every Master
of a ffamily to send all his Taxables wch is Too hard to the
Master.

By the house of Delegates Iuly 15th 1699.

The house have Considered the alteration pposed to be
made in the Bill for high wayes & makeing the heads of
Rivers Creeks branches &c passiable &c & Humbly Conceive
that such alteration as is pposed that Every overseer &c
should not be oblidged to send all his Male Taxables would
be to throw the whole Burthen thereof upon the poore only

said Message who Returne and say they have deliverd the
same.
The Honble Coll Ion Addisson & Coll Ion Courts Enter the

Majties Prsent Govr wch past for Engrossing as all soe the follow-
ing Message
