By the house of Delegates March the 28^th 1698.

This house have prused and Consid^red Severall papers
relateing to the accompt of the Q^r p^t of the 1^d given by his
Most Sacred Maj^ty for the provideing this province w^th Armes
Amunition &c. and are not Satisfied therew^th because there is
no Certainty of time in any papers laid before us.

Therefore if yo^r Ex^cy has any acc^tts und^r the hands of George
Plater and George Muschampe Esq^rs relateing thereto w^ch are
more Certaine We humbly desire that yo^r Ex^cy would be
pleased to Comunicate them to us. If not that the said
George plater and George Muschampe Esq^rs may be ord^red
to prepare a full and ample Acc^tt thereof from the time of yo^r
Ex^cys first arrivall to be laid before the next Sessions of

By his Ex^ncy the Govern^r & Council in assembly
March 26^th 1698.

The Houses Resolves upon part of the Report made by the
Comittee appointed for Indian affairs was rec^d and here read;
but it is expected th^t a direct answer be given to every par-
ticular article reported by the s^d Comittee & approved off by
his Ex^ncy in Council otherwise this Board cannot further pro-

By his Ex^ncy the Gov^r & Council in assembly
March 26^th 1698.

In Reply to the Houses answer ab^t transmitting the
Comitte of grievances Journall hither, for perusall of this

Board; Hie Ex^ncy is pleased positively to declare th^t the

House have no right to insist upon any thing as matter of
Custom in this Countrey w^ch is not agreeable to the Laws of
England; and this Board do think themselves as much con-
cern'd & to have as great reason to inspect & see what the
Grievances of the Countrey are, as well as the House of
