The Houses Resolves upon part of the Report made by the
Comittee appointed for Indian affairs was recd and here read;
but it is expected tht a direct answer be given to every par-
ticular article reported by the sd Comittee & approved off by
his Exncy in Council otherwise this Board cannot further pro-

In Reply to the Houses answer abt transmitting the
Comitte of grievances Journall hither, for perusall of this
Board; Hie Exncy is pleased positively to declare tht the
House have no right to insist upon any thing as matter of
Custom in this Countrey wch is not agreeable to the Laws of
England; and this Board do think themselves as much con-
cern'd & to have as great reason to inspect & see what the
Grievances of the Countrey are, as well as the House of
