4. The Comittee find that the persons appointed to treat
wth the Indians at the head of the bay, have made no returne
in Obedience to the ordr so that this Comittee have not to say
further therein.
5. Honr Colonell George Robotham gives the following
account of the Choptank Indians vizt: That they are more
Condescending Quiet and peaceable then Evr he knew them
before. His Honr Colonel Hutchins gives the same acct of
the Indians of Somersett County.
6. The Cofnittee do unanimously conclude and agree that
it will be Convenient and Necessary that the Gentn by act of
assembly appointed for deciding differences betwixt the Eng-
lish and Indians be ordred to acquaint the Indians in Generall
that now there being a generall peace throughout Christen-
dome, they may have the same happiness here if they will be
Neighbourly frindly & Quiett
Resolved that the said Gentlemen acquaint the Indians
Therewth Signed p ordr

This house are Sufficiently Satisfied wth the Integrity of Mr
Mason publick Treasurer of the Westerne Shore and Cannot
Conscent to the displaceing of him Signed p ordr

By the house of Delegates march the 26th 1698.

In answer to his Excys Message abt Greivances this house
do say that they have nothing more of that nature lying
before them; an answer to yor formr proposall being herewth
likewise sent; as to the transmitting the Journall of the
Comittee to yor Board We Conceive it nevr to have been
practiced therefor desire to be Excused therein

As to the Susquahanah Indians it is Concluded they are
not wth in this Governmt as to the method of holding assem-
blyes this house do not think fitt to draw up any such
Methode; but are willing to Come as neare the practice of
the parliamt of England as the Constitutions of this province
