By the Covncill in Assembly Iuly 6^th 1699.

His Ex^cey has been this Day pleased this day to Lay before
us his Maj^ties Royall Comission for the Governm^t of this Pro-
vince & therein observed a Clavse touching the Publick Seale
of this province in these words and our will and pleasure is
that you shall and may Keep the Publick Seal appoynted or to
be appoynted by us for the Province of Maryland as by the
Comission herewith sent appears By w^ch his Mas^ties Royall
Comission & authority to his Ex^cy to Keep and use that seal
appears to this board past denyall
It is therefore Recomended to the house of Delegates to
Compose such a Law to regulate the Chan^ry proceedings
instead of the former as may answer his Maj^ties Comands in

Ease of the people

Read the Conveyance for the Land at the Coole springs
& ord^rd to be amended.
A Bill for the Transferring unto Maj^r W^m Whittington the
Debts due from the officers of Sum^rsett County by vertue of
an act for raising a Supplye towards the Defraying of the
Publick Charge of this Province read the first time.
Read Coll: Rob Quarrys Petition praying that he may be
abated the four pence p Gallon for one thousand gall of Rum
imported by him into this Province & Casually lost by the Tide
Put to the vote if he shall be allowed for six hund^rd Gallons
or not and Carryed in the affirmative
Resolved that he be allowed the four pence p Gallon for
six hundred Gallens soe by him Lost

this house have called Maj^r Edw^d Dorsey before them and
Inquired of him whether he would Submitt to such fine as the
