Proposed what fine shall be imposed vpon Maj^r Dorsey
This House Resolve themselfs into a Comittee of the whole
house and appoynt Cap^t Rich^d Hill Cheirman and to Consider
of the said fine.
Put to the vote in the said Comittee if the fine shall be Two
hundred pounds Sterl: or Two hundred & fifty pounds sterling
and Carryed by the Majority of voices for Two hund'd pounds

The Comittee brakes up and M^r Speaker having Taken the
Chaire Cap^t Richard Hill reportes from the said Comittee as
followes

Journal.

That in Consideration that Maj^r Dorsey has done some
worke to the Church and has rec^d some money yet not with-
standing for his negligence in not Carrying on the said Church
work that he refund such money as he had reced: from the
Countrey on acco^tt of building the s^d Church and that he be
fined for such his negligence & omission Two hundred pounds
sterling and Surrender what worke he has done to the founda-
tion of the sd Church & that the sd Maj^r Dorsey be Dissen-
gaged from build⁸ of the said Church & that M^r Tho: ffeilder
and M^r Henry Croffts be alsoe Disengaged from that part of
their Agreem^t w^ch they made w^th the said Dorsey soe far as
relates to the building of the said Church and it is the further
sense of this house that nothing herein Contained shall any
wise relate to the building and finishing the ffreeschoole but
that the same is wholy left to the Gov^r and Visiters of the
ffreeschoole.
The Bill for asscertaining the bounds of Land read the first
time and ord^rd that therebe a made therein for the Ten
p Cent according to my Lord Baltemors Grant for Surplus-
sage.
And that their be a Clause incerted that where any pson
has taken up Lands and has not made any Improvem^ts on it
nor sued out a pattent for the same in twenty one years and
that the same Land has been since taken up by a later Survey
that the said Later taker vp may hold and Enjoy the same.
