the Province will reasonably Admitt. Wee are Sufficiently
assured of yo^r Ex^cys good Intention & inclination to assert the
Interest of this province and to doe us Iustice & are in an
Especiall manner pleased to find in yo^r Ex^cy that apertnes of
Mind that Cleaness and freedome from prejudice and pre-
possesions of bad opinions against any Man and desire you
will belive us all honest Men lett us all indefferently ptake
the advantages of yo^r good Goverm^t and applye his Maj^tys
Grace & favour in Common matters indifferently to us all
till any Mans actions bespeakes him otherwise. Wee Cannot
omitt to telling yo^r Ex^cy that Wee take it as an infallable
argum^t of yo^r owne sincerity & Candour that no Sinister
pswasions have Disscoraged yo^r Ex^cy from making Vse of and
Treating w^th the p^rsent Assembly w^ch at your comeing you
found all ready Elected we hope you will not find your Self
mistaken in yo^r Measures desireing this much that as wee are
men & lyable to Mistakes & Erro^rs that if any thing pceeds
from us w^ch at first is not pleasing to yo^r Ex^cy that it may
not be haestily resented till wee be better vnderstood & we
assure yo^r Ex^cy that we will Ioyne w^th a Chearfulness more
then has lately possessed us to dispatch the besiness w^ch occas-
sions our metting if yo^r Ex^cys Iudgm^t and ours agree in meas-
ureing the Capacity of the province
