By the house of Delegates Iuly the 12th 1699.

The Message by the honble Iohn Hamond and Thomas
Tasker Esqrs has been here recd and read.
Resolved that Capt Richd Hill Mr Samll Young, Mr George
Ashman Mr William Hutchison Mr Thomas Greenfield, Mr
Walter Smith Mr Elisha Hall Mr Philip Hoskins and Mr Benja-
min Hall or the Major part of them be appointed a Comittee
to joyne wth and Assist his Excy and his Matys honble Councill
in Adviseing and Concerting such Measures as will Suppress
any violence which may be offered to this province by the
Indians after the breaking up of this prsent Sessions of Genll
Assembly untill Such time tht the sd Genll Assembly can pos-
sibly be Conveened and that a Bill be prpared for the Same

The following Answer sent from the Board to the house by
Majr Iohn Harhond together with Majr William Dents peto

By his Excy the Governor and Councill in Assembly
Iuly the 12th 1699.

The houses Message this morning sent by Mr Staley and
Mr Hicks has been here recd read and Considered and it is
very well approved of that the Bill proposed should be
prepared

His Excy lays before the Board that the Income of this
parish is so Small that it dos not Allow any Suitable Encour-
agemt to a good Divine to Supply the Cure.

By his Excy the Governor and Councill in Assembly
Iuly the 12th 1699.

Journal.

It falling under the Consideration of this Board the great
Advance that has been made by the Genll Assembly of this
province in the Religious worship of Allmighty God And that
this place is become the seat of the Governmt &c. wch thereby
requires the Constant residence of Some Able and pious
Divine being a place of great Concourse and where persons
of the best noate and figure will frequently resorte besides the
publick meeting of Courts and Assemblys but the parish of it
