By his Excy the Governor & Councill in Assembly
Iuly the 11th 1699

The within petition haveing been here read and the peti-
tioners Claimed Considered of, This Board are not Sencible
that he ever as yett recd any Satisfaction Tho: it is observed to
the house that upon a Mistake made in the publick Leavy of
10000l of Tobbacco in the year 1692 he was Ordered 15000ls
of Tobbo in full Satisfaction of that Claime by the Governor &
Councill yet in the year 1694 tht order was disallowed of and
the Tobbo taken out of his hands so that upon due Considera-
tion that the Severall persons who recd those his Accomoda-
tions were of the Councill Convention and other publick
officers Called down to St Marys upon his Excy Governor
Copleys Arrivall here to Surrender up the Governmt It is rec-
omended to you to have a favourable reguard to the petitionr
in Granting him such Iust reliefe as this his Complt deserves.

Came Majr Smith and Mr Benjan Hall from the house for
Some of the members of this Board to Come down and have
Mr Greenfield sworne.
Thomas Tasker Esqr & Col Francis Ienkins are sent to have
him sworne.
The Board adjourned till 8 of the Clock to morrow morning

Iuly the 12th 1699.

Councill Sate Absent Col Henry Iowles and Thomas
Brook Esqr
Complained by the honble Col Iohn Addison that a fi: fac:
being Delivered to the Sherriffe of Talbott County, said Col
Addison ads Edmundsons Exrs, And Col Addison and Major
Dents Bond to secure him harmless, he had refused to Execute
the said Writt

Ordered Mr Grundy be Sent for who Appearing says he
did not think the Bond Sufficient to Indempnify him neither
did he know it was acknowledged but being now better Satis-
fyed if Col Addison and Major Dent will Acknowledge the
Bond and renew the Writt he will Endeavour to have it Effec-
tually Executed.
Ordered That Mr William Bladen go and require Mr John
ffreeman Register in Chancery to bring; the Great Seale to his
Excellency the Governor and Councill.
Came the sd Mr ffreeman and delivered the Seale to his
Excellency.
The following Message was sent from the house by Mr
Staley and Mr Hicks vizt
