Councills Result thereon; and upon Reading that parte where
his Excy Sr Edmond Andross says he would answer the Govrs
Letter hereafter, His Excy is pleased to declare before the
fface of the Whole Assembly, that he never received any
answer from Sr Edmond Andross to that Matter.
All the said papers were ordered to be, accordingly deliv-
ered to the Clke of the house.
Afterwards his Excy was pleased to tell them that as to the
message sent on Saturday ffrom the house (if they do but con-
sult their former Journall) they will finde no deviation from
their former Rules, tho' the manner might some thing differ,
which his Excy tooke to be the speediest and Easyest way of
Dispatching business and Creating a Right Understanding of
Matters however had Ordered An Answer to be returned
thereto that Evening of his being well satisfied with the
houses Resolve therein, but that the house was risen before
the answer gott to them.

Mr Speaker and the Rest of the Members repaire to the
house to consult about the Indian Affaire.—Came Doctor
Jacob Lookerman & Walter Campbell who say they were sent
from the house to desire that Mr ffrancis Genkins, Mr John
Bosman Mr Saml Collins, and Mr Walter Lane Delegates
Returned by Indenture to serve for Somersett County, might
be sworne, Whereupon the honble Sr Thomas Laurence Barrt
Colonel Robotham & Esqr Brooks did administer unto the sd
Gentn the Oaths appointed by Act of parliament to be taken
insteade of the Oaths of Allegiance & Supremacy And the
said Gentn severally subscribed the Test.

March the 15th 1697/8.
The Council again Sate and were prsent.

Thomas Brooks and
James ffrisby Esqrs

That It be proposed to the house how the Arms now com-
ing in shall be disposed of
That the dispute about the ffurrs brought from pensilvania
and exported out of the Province by Capt Nicholas Smith
be now decided this Assembly
