The ffollowing Message
was by Order drawen up Vizt

By his Excy the Govr in Coun-
cill In Assembly March the
15th 1697/8

There being two of the Navall Officers now attending in
order to make Oath to there accots It is required that the house
would send about six of their membrs to see them swornethat
the said Officers may be dispatched out of Towne And it is
recommended by this boarde that the house would consult
whether they thinke It necessary to prohibite the Exportation
of Corne and provisions.

Esqr Tench & Esqr ffrisby ordered to carry the said Message
who accordingly went and Returne & say they have delivered
the same.
It is proposed that the house advise whether the Susqua-
hanah Indians, where they now Live be within the bounds of
this province or not.
Proposed that the house appoint Some of the Members to
Joyne in Committee with some of his Matys honble Councill to
Inspect the accott of the mony given towards building the
Church at Annapolis Viewing the worke still to be done about
the Stadt house Vizt Galleries & Cupelo, to view the ditch, &
gate houses &ca and settle one to keepe the same in Ordr and
hoyst the fflagg. Two petitions for the said place being referred
to the Consideration of the house, & that the Sevrall materialls
gott towards the building of the Church and Schoole house
be Likewise Viewed, being referred to the moddell of the
Church made by Mr ffielder for their Directions in this par-
ticular, and do recommend that the said Mr ffielder be satisfyed
for his pains & Trouble therein and at other tymes about
Viewing the Stadt house &ca that some boards &ca be fitted
upon the backe of the Kings picture to keepe It from the
dampness of the Walls a Cover for It with Rayls about It, to
have the Kings Arms in Like manner prserved by putting
some boarde on the backe side thereof to keepe It from
Rotting It is recommended that some care be taken about
Regulating the Ordinary's, and that none be suffered except
such as will comply with the Law.
That some Law or Ordinance be made for the better
securing all Letters brought in by Masters of Shipps. That
some better care be taken about Orphans & Encouragemt
given to Coopers & Carpenters for want whereof there are
