his Excy which was read together with a Certain paper formed
into Articles of Charge agt him which Order together with
SeVall other papers relating to that matter delivered to the
Clarke for the pusall of the house.
His Excy being pleased to shew Mr Speaker and the members
the Sevrall Offices & Rooms in the new Stadt house. Returned
afterwards to the Councill Chamber. The honble Thomas
Tench Esqr has Leave to retire home till Munday.

It having fallen under the Consideracon of this house
whether It were convenient and consonant to the Rules &
Methods of parliaments and Assemblys that your Excy should
be prsent here whilst the house is sitting.
We have resolved that the same As it hath not heretofore
been usuall so It ought not now to be practicable therefore
humbly desire that when your Excy pleases to conferr with this
house you will order us to attend you att the Councill Cham-
ber. It being more for the Grandeur & honour of the Kings
Government that We should there attend your Excy then that
you should give your selfe the Trouble to come downe to us.
We are with all dutifull respects your Excys most humble
Servant.

The following answer was by Order Sent (Vizt ) By his Excy
the Govr & Councill in Assembly March the 12th 1697/8.
The Message sent by Capt Waughop and others about the
Rules & Methodes of Assembly &ca was Received, and his
Excy in Councill is pleased to returne for Answer that he is
very well Satisfyed therewith.

Letter to his Excy from Colonel Pierce about Indians dated
the 9th of March 1697/8 read and ordered to be Layd before
the house with the other papers relating to the affaire which
is recommended to the consideracon of the house
