Ward Veazey twelve thousand Pounds to be delivered over to
Colo William Henry to be by him expended in the purchase
of Wheat & Flour and Accounted for
That the said Treasurer pay to John Ward Veazey Fifty
thousand Pounds to be expended in the Purchase of Flour &
Accounted for
That the said Treasurer pay to James Hodges Ten Pounds
due him per Acct passed by the Depy Aud.
Agreeable to the Resolution of Congress of the 6th Instant
Permission is hereby given to the Ship Defence now lying in
the Port of Baltimore to Lade and Transport a Cargoe of
Provisions for the use of and to be delivered to the Fleet of
his most Christian Majesty, the said Ship clearing out at the
proper Office and previously to her clearing out the Captain
delivering into such Office a Manifest of her Lading and he
together with two other of the Principal Officers of the same
Ship making Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God
that such Manifest contains a true account of the Lading of the
said Ship and that no other Provisions of any kind have been
to their knowledge or belief or shall be with their privity or
consent Laden or put on board such Ship other than such as
are for the Subsistance of her Crew and have been or shall be
allowed and Permitted by the Naval Officer and that they will
use their utmost Endeavors to deliver the whole Cargoe of
Provisions aforesaid to the proper Person or Persons to receive
the same for the use of the Fleet of his most Christian Majesty.
And the Agent or Agents employed in directing the Load-
ing of the said Ship also making Oath that the Provisions
mentioned in the said Manifest are Shipped and designed to
be transported in the said Ship for the use of the Navy of his
most Christian Majesty & for no other purpose to the best of
his knowledge & Belief

In Council Annapolis 16th July 1779
Sir.
By our Letter of the 11th June, we informed you that Mr
Morris, by his Letter by that Day's Post desired a Part of the
Flour purchased in this State, to be delivered to the Commy
Genl and we requested you that you would deliver to the
Commy of Issues residing at the Head of Elk, all the Flour
which remained in your Hands of the Purchase of this State:
we also, on the same Day, wrote a like Letter to Mr S. Gilpin
& Mr J. W. Veazey supposing that what was sent forward and
what then remained in your & those Gentlemen's Hands would
