In Council Annapolis 13^th July 1779
Sir
Col^o Forrest writes that you have on Hand some Shoes,
Overalls & about 300 y^ds of Oznab^s which you could immedi-
ately get made into Shirts, we wish you to have the Oznab^s
made into Shirts and deliver for each Recruit a pair of Shoes,
Overalls & a Shirt, taking Receipts from the Officers. We
are sorry that the Pork turns out so bad, you must sell it for
the best you can, the smaller the Quantities the better, to
prevent Purchasers selling again.
We send an immediate Supply to Maj^r Smith

In Council Annapolis 13^th July 1779
Sir.
We have drawn the Money for Cap^t Bailey & M^r Shel-
merdine as you desire and have wrote to M^r Keeports to have
the Oznab^s made up into Shirts & the Cloathing delivered.
If Cloathing could be sent to you from the Continental Stores,
it would greatly facilitate the Recruiting Service and in some
Measure prevent Successful Desertion, we wish you would
press for 100 or 150 Suits Shirts & Hats. Col^o Stone sent 15
Recruits 2 deserted at Marlbro' and two here; the State
Boat is cleaning, we hope to send the remaining Recruits off
in her this Evening; the Boat shall call at Whetstone Point for
yours, as you request, 40 Linen Coatees go up in her. We
wish to be furnished with a Return of the Recruits and to
which Regiments they belong, as far as they can be ascertained
in Order to lay before the Assembly
