Saturday 5 June 1779

Present as on yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt
Jonathan Morris of the 7th Maryld Regt Six thousand Dollars
to be expended in the Recruiting Service.
That the said Treasurer pay to Richard Bryan One hundred
and Fifty three Pounds per Acct passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Daniel Colter Fourteen
Pounds, five shillings p Account passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt Jona-
than Morris of the 7 Regt 12 pair of Overalls, 12 Coatees, 12
pair Shoes and Linen suff' for a Bag
It appearing from the Book of Inrollmentsof Major Fulfords
Company of Matrosses now before this Board that Jacob
Clark of the Annapolis Matrosses who hath petitioned to be
discharged was duly inlisted according to the Resolution of
Convention to serve during the present Dispute between
Great Britain and America unless sooner discharged by order
of the Convention or Council of Safety of Maryland for the
Time being this Board adjudge the said Inlistment of the
aforesaid Jacob Clark regular and obligatory

In Council Annapolis 5th June 1776
Sir
By a Letter just received from Mr Purviance, the Merchants
are very desirous of getting the Conqueror down the Bay, but
want 12 or 15 of the Balto Company of Matrosses to assist in
Manning her. Desirous of contributing all we can, we wish
you to furnish the Men, we hope they may be induced to go
with their Consent, if not, advise us of it. As the present
Appearance of Things promises an Opportunity of hearing the
Pretensions of those of your Men who have applied for a Dis-
charge, we wish you to come down, as formerly desired, with
what Witnesses & Evidence you have or can adduce to sup-
port the Propriety of their Inlistments & to permit some of the
Petitioners to come hither at the same Time
