wish in your Agreements you would fix the Price absolutely,
as you may not be embarrassed about the Settlement hereafter.
The Midlings and Ship Stuff, we cannot conceive, will be
useful & therefore would not have you purchase it. If we
find it absolutely necessary, we shall give the Power of seizing,
but it is the Intention of the Act, that the Measure should not

be taken, but on the most pressing Occasion. If you can con-
tract from £4 ... 10 ... — to £5 ... 10 ... — for Wheat, and
£17 ...10. to £18 ... 15. for good Flour, we think, you had
better go on, you shall be very soon furnished with Money.
You must hire Carriages to transport the Provisions; if not to
be hired, on Information given us, we shall send an Order to
have them impressed

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John
Bullen, two thousand two hundred & twenty one Pounds, five
shillings due him p Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to William Hyde two thousand
Dollars to be accounted for
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut. Perry Benson of the 5th
Maryld Regt Two thousand Dollars for the recruiting Service
That the Eastern shore Treasurer pay to William Hemsley
Esqr Ten thousand Pounds on Acct for the Purchase of
Wheat, Flour & Bread under the late Act of Assembly
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Lieut. Bruce of
the 1 Regt 6 pair of Shoes, 1 pr Overalls, & 1 yard Flannel
to be charged to said Regimt
That the said Commissary deliver to Lieut. Armstrong of
the 3d Regt 21 Pair Shoes to be charged to the 3d & 1 Regimt
That the said Commissiary Deliver to James Dod a 9 Mo
Soldr in the 7th Regimt Discharged, Twenty nine Pounds, ten
shillings in Cloathing due him by an Act of Assembly to
procure Troops for the American Army
Permission given to William Noke and his wife to Leave
this State by the way of the West Indies
Commissions issued to John Harris appointed 2d Lieut, &
William Sommers Ensign of Capt Thomas Spriggs Compy
George Horskinson 1 Lt John Douden 2 Lieut, Walter Hard-
ing Ensign of Capt William Blackmore's Compy Thomas
Hay's Capt in the room of Richd Smith, John Sommers 1 Lt
