George Armstrong on the 3d Maryland Regiment, One hun-
dred and Fifty Pounds, due him by Resolve of the General
Assembly
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Johnson junr One
hundred and three Pounds, ninteen shillings and one penny
for his Attendance as Clerk to the Governor & Council for
the 20th Oct. 1778 to the 1 Feby 1779
Whereas by an Act of the General Assembly entitled An
Act for the Relief of sundry of the Inhabitants of this State
passed at the last Session it is enacted that the several Peti-
tioners therein named and every of them shall be excused
from paying any Assessment theretofore imposed on the Inhab-
itants of this State and in Case the Sheriff or Collector should
then already have received the same Assessment or any part
part thereof, such Sheriff or Collector should be obliged to
Account with the Person or Persons from whom he might have
received the same and should refund such Money so received,
which said Money so refunded such Sheriff or Collector should
be allowed on the Settlement of his Account with the Com-
missioners of Cecil County aforesaid as also for his Com-
mission in collecting the same and that in all Similar Cases it
should and might be Lawful for the Governor & Council of
this State to give the like Relief by making an Allowance in
the then present or any future Assessment under the Proviso
that no Person or Persons should be relieved by the Governor
and Council from the then present or any future Assessments
but such as should have taken and subscribed the Oath or
Affirmation of Fidelity aud Support to this State as directed
and prescribed by the Act for the better Security of the Govern-
ment, and Whereas the several Inhabitants of Cecil County
following to wit. Andrew Crow Senr James Hukill, Zebulon
Beasting, Elizabeth Rider, Spencer Holtham, Edward Foard,
Benja Sluyter, William Jones, Andrew Hughes, StClair Lan-
caster, Susanna Vander Grist, Samuel Morrison, Samuel
Glenn, James Lawrenson, Richard Taylor, Michael Styles,
Moses Cockran, William Wood, William Taylor, Thomas
Brevard, Jere Taylor Valentine Carpenter, Michael McGillon,
Samuel Hutchenson, Richard Ford, Andrew Miller, Elie Alex-
ander, Thomas Richardson Richard Huckill, Daniel Huckill
David Alexander Elias Owings, Edward Armstrong, Samuel
Hughes, John Bristow, Evan Beall, Margaret Gordon, Andrew
Wallace, David Black. John Holland, Peter Bayard, John
Jobson, John Mullan, Jacob Hudson, Samuel Bayard, John
