5 sides of Sole Leather and one Side of Upper Ditto

Maryland Comp⁷ of Riflemen in the Continental Service, One
hundred and fifty Pounds the Allowance made by the General
Assembly.

In Council Annapolis 26^th Jan^y 1779
Sir
M^r Griest represents to us that very soon after his Appoint-
ment as Quarter Master, which was about the last of August
1777, he purchased a considerable Quantity of Corn for the
Use of this State, that a Part of it remaining on Hand unex-
pended, he got M^r Welsh to retail it out in small Quantities
to the People who were in great Want of it; that some Pro-
ceeding has been carried on against him and M^r Welsh as
Engrossers of this Corn and that in Consequence of it the
Corn was delivered to you by Order of the Justices and part
