[Council to Lord Stirling.]

In Council Annapolis 12th Decr 1778.
My Lord
Mrs Chamier the widow of Mr Chamier lately deceased, is
desirous, we are informed, of returning again to this State, to
her Relations, and has requested some Gentleman here of her
Acquaintance may be permitted to attend her. The Bearer
of this Capt John Sterrett, who we can safely mention to you
as a good Whig and firm Friend to America, wishes to obtain
a Flag to advise Mrs Chamier of his attending to receive her
at the Lines or such Place as you may think proper, and we
shall be obliged to you if you do not think it improper, to
grant Capt Sterrett the Flag and that he may meet with as
little Delay as the Nature of his Business makes necessary

Present as on Saturday. James Hindman Esquire Attended
Richard Barnes Esqr from the Senate delivers to his Excel-
lency the follow2 Resolve

By the Senate December 13th 1778

Resolved, that the Governor & Council prepare and lay
before the General Assembly at their next Meeting a full and
particular Estimate of the Expences of the civil and military
Establishments of this State; and make out exact Lists of all
Military and Naval Stores, and of all Cloathing which may be
on Hand belonging to this State
By order R Ridgely Cl. S.
thus indorsed, By the House of Delegates Decemr 13th 1778
Read & assented to
By order I. Duckett Cl H. Del.

Tuesday 15th December 1778

Present as on yesterday.
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John
Chevier, Six Pounds fifteen Shillings and six Pence per Acct
passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Edward Lloyd Esquire One
thousand three hundred and seventy nine Pounds, eight
Shillings & Nine pence per Account passed by the Aud Genl
