Ordered that Samuel Carter a Serjeant in Capt Campbell's
Compy of Matrosses be allowed for the Preceeding Month an
Additional Sum of twenty shillings to his Serjeants Pay and
the like Sum for every Month hereafter that he shall be
employed in the Laboratory in Annapolis
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to William
Newton Forty Pounds Eighteen shillings and six pence per
Acct passed by the Prinl Cl to the A. Gl

Monday 16th November 1778

Present as on Saturday
David Ferguson second Lieut of Marines on board the
Conqueror Galley Resigns his Commission which is accepted
in Council
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Mathew
Tilghman Esquire thirty three Pounds, thirteen shillings per
Acct passed by the Prinl Cl. to Aud. Gl
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Col. Stone a Suit
of Cloaths for a Soldier and 4 yards Linen for himself
Application having been made by Mr William Smith of
Baltimore Town for leave to Lade on board the Schooner
Swan from Boston commanded by Capt. Styles a Cargoe of
Flour for the use of the United States pursuant to the Order
of the Marine Committee of the twenty fourth Day of October
last. You are to grant a Permit for lading on board the said
Vessel a Cargoe of Flour and when Laded you are to grant
a Clearance for the said Vessel and Cargoe certifying that the
said Cargoe is on Account of the United States and is Shipped
under the Order of the Marine Committee
To the Naval Officer of the Port of Baltimore
Ordered that Mr Crysall deliver to Mr Ashmead what
Provisions he has which were Purchased for the United States

Lading of the Swan with Flour, and a Copy of the Marine
Committee's Letter to you, the Original, with yours, we
