if we were ever so much inclined, remit the Forfeiture, if, as
we suppose, the Officer who seized is a Party in the Libel and
interested in the Event.

Present as on Saturday — T. S. Lee Esqr attended.
Commissions issued to Edward Gaither appointed Colo John
Burgess Lieut Colo & Andrew Ellicott Major of the Elk ridge
Battalion of Militia in Ann Arundel County
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John
Bolton one hundred and twenty six pounds twelve shillings &
five pence, bal of Acct passed by the Aud Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Gabriel Paterson Vanhorn
eleven pounds twelve shillings and six pence for the use of
Thomas Smith and also the further sum of five pounds six
shillings & four pence for the use of Joseph Stiles per Acct
passed by the Aud. Genl

Tuesday 3d November 1778.

Present as on yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to James
Evans Twenty pounds, ninteen shillings and six pence for the
use of John Muir per Acct passed by the Aud. Genl

Wednesday 4ta November 1778.

Present as on yesterday
Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to John San-
ders a private in the 3d Regt 1 Coat, 1 Waistcoat, 1 pr Breeches,
1 pr Stockings 2 Shirts and 1 pair of Shoes to be charged to
said Regiment.

Thursday 5th November 1778

Present as on yesterday except Tho. Sim Lee Esqr
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Lieut
Samuel Sadler Two hundred and Eighty four pounds for the
use of Major Nathaniel Smith per Account passed by the
Prinl Cl. to the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Charles Wallace Esqr Pay-
master seven hundred Pounds on Account.
