Commission issued to Robert Dashiell appointed Captain
of the Galley Chester in the room of Capt. Thomas Coursey
displaced.

Saturday 31 October 1778

Present as on yesterday.
Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to Captain
Muse of the first Regimt Cloth for a waistcoat & breeches,
2 1/2 yards Serge Denim with proper Thinness &1 pr Shoes.
That the western shore Treasurer pay to John Brown forty
three pounds ten shillings for the use of William Deford per
Acct passed by the Prinl Cl. to the A Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt. Beriah Maybury Fifty
six pounds thirteen shillings and ten pounds per Acct passed
by the Aud. Genl and also the further Sum of Fifty pounds
on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Wilmer one hundred
and fifty one pounds ninteen shillings and four pence half
penny for the use of John Vorhees per Acct passed by the
Prinl Cl. to the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to William Goldsmith eighteen
pounds, eight shillings and four pence per Acct passed by the
Aud. Genl and the further Sum of one hundred and Fifty
pounds on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Houston one hun-
dred and three pounds twelve shillings per Account passed
by the Aud. Genl and also the further sum of four hundred
and one pounds, eight shillings and nine pence on Acct to dis-
charge the Certas given by him for the Purchase of Provisions.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Wilmot Junr Thirty
three pounds per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Long one hundred
and sixty Pounds, eleven shillings and eight pence per Acct
passed by the Prinl Cl. to the A. Genl

In Council Annapolis 31st Octr 1778.
Sir
Mr Hoofman waited on us with your Letter and several
Papers respecting the Sloop Friendship. We cannot with
Propriety, in any Manner attempt to influence, as to the Ves-
sel's being permitted to go on Security. The Judge will make
any interlocutory Order which ought to be made, nor can we,
