[Council to J. Calhoun.]

In Council Annapolis 9th Octr 1778.
Sir
We have received yours of the 5th Inst The Prices you
have mentioned of the Blanketts, appear to us extravagant.
We request you to purchase one Thousand for which you may
give as far as six Pounds, if good. The Quality must govern
the Price. It will be agreeable to us to be informed of the
Prices of such other Articles as are proper for the Army.
The Sale of the Galley is satisfactory.

Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt
Campbell Cloth sufft for a Great Coat with proper Trimmings
That the western shore Treasurer pay to Com. Thos Grason
three hundred & forty six Pounds, ninteen shillings & six
Pence due the Crew of the Conqueror Galley per Acct passed
by the Aud. Genl
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt
John Gordon one hundred and twelve pounds fifteen shillings
and ten Pence and also the further Sum of Five Pounds ten
shillings per Accts passed by the Aud Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Isaac Harris six hundred
and three Pounds, five shillings per Acct passed by the Aud
Genl

Tuesday 13th October 1778

Present as on Yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Charles
Wallace Esqr Paymr one hundred and ninty seven Pounds,
two shillings and six Pence per Account passed by the Aud.

Commission of Letter of Marque & Reprisal issued to John
Baldwin Commander of the Schooner Lively 50 Tons Burthen,
mounting 8 Swivels and 8 Small Arms, navigated by 12 men
belonging to Samuel Roddy and James Martin of Maryland
and Blair Mc Clennaghan
