Commissions dated 15 Augt last, issued to Henry Bateman

appointed Capt, John Sears first Lieut, Robert Lusby second
Lieut, Robert Davidge Ens. Joseph Warfield second Lieut,
John Marriott Ens. of Capt. Philo Warfields Co Benjamin Fish
second Lieut. Zacha Jacobs Ens of Capt. John Boones Co Joshua
Meriken Capt. John Walker first Lieut and John Shaw second
Lieut belonging to the Severn Batt of Mila in Ann Arundel
County
It being represented to this Board by Maj. Nathl Smith that
the Boom at Baltimore cannot be made serviceable in the
Defence of that Town without incurring a Considerable
Expence in repairing it and that the Iron fixt to it would now
sell for a Large Sum of Money and that it is the opinion of
himself and of many of the Principal Inhabitants of Baltimore
Town that it would be prudent and to the Advantage of the
Public to sell the materials of the said Boom
This Board concurring in that Opinion request Maj. Smith
to sell the Materials of the said Boom, receive the Money and
remit the same into the Treasury for the use of the Public
transmiting an Account thereof to this Board
Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to Maj. Nat.
Smith one hundred pair of Shoes for the use of the Matrosses in
Baltimore
Major Nathl Smith is hereby authorized to take or Seize all
such of the Commodities not allowed to be exported by the
Act entitled "An Act to prohibit for a limited time the Ex-
portation of Wheat, Flour, Rye, Indian Corn, Rice, Bread,
Beef, Pork, Bacon live Stock and other Victual" as he shall
happen to find know or discover to be laid on board any Ship
or other Vessel or Boat at Sea or in any Port or in any Navig-
able River or water to the Intent or Purpose to be exported
transported or conveyed out of this State contrary to the true
intent of the said Act and also the Ship Vessel or Boat in
which the same shall be found and to bring the Goods to some
safe and convenient place near which such seizure shall be
made in order to be proceeded against according to Law
