Ordered that the western shore Treasurer Pay to Colo Wil-
liam Richardson Nine Pounds to be delivered over to Nathaniel
Potter on Acct for the Additional Price of Provisions
That the said Treasurer Pay to Colo John H. Stone one
hundred and Eighty Dollars on Acct & to be charged to the
first Regiment,

Friday 21 August 1778

Present as on Yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer Pay to Comodore
Thos Grason fifty Pounds on Account
Ordered that the Clerk of Baltimore County issue Capias
against Daniel Deshon late of said County Mariner to answer
unto the State of Maryland in a Plea of Trespass upon the
Case respecting the Sloop Molly

In Council Annapolis 22d Augt 1778
Sir
We have been informed the Sloop Molly was consigned to
you by Mr Bingham of Martinique. As she has been sold by
the State Agent contrary to the Orders of this Board, the Sale
is not confirmed, nor would we wish to come to any Resolution
before we have a Conversation with you on the Subject. If
its convenient for you to ride down, the Beginning of the next
Week, you'll oblige Sir your
humble Servts

In Council Annapolis 26th August 1778.
Sir.
Inclosed you have a Resolve of the General Assembly, under
which we have advertised for Sale, on next Saturday, the
Galley on the Stocks in Baltimore. We have not been exactly
ascertained of the Charges in building this Vessel; inclosed
are all the Papers transmitted to us, relative thereto. Mr Wells,
on Application, may be able to give you some further Infor-
mation: On the Whole, we think you may set her up at £1500
exclusive of the usual Commn unless on consulting Mr Wells
you find she will stand the State in a larger Sum; in that Case
you will act accordingly. It will readily appear that the Work
