Hughes Esqr five hundred and seventy Pounds and nine Pence
due for repairing Fort Frederick per Accts passed by the
Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to John Stewart one thousand
and forty six Pounds, seven shillings and six Pence and also
the further sum of one hundred & sixty eight Pounds, seven-
teen shillings for the use of Lux and Bowley per Accts passed
by the Aud. General.
That the said Treasurer pay to Samuel Slade seventeen
Pounds per Acct passed by the Aud. General.
That the said Treasurer Pay to Capt. Benjamin Brookes
sixty Pounds and the further Sum of fifteen Pounds due him
per Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to Joseph Sprigg Eighty six
pounds for the use of Isaac Cooper & the further Sum of two
Pounds one shilling and eight pence for the use of Mark
Beatty per Accts passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to Comr Mills seven pounds
per Acct passed by the A. G.
Commission issued to William Dare appointed first Lieut,
of Capt. Frederick Skinners Comy of Militia in Calvert
County
Ordered That the western shore Treasurer Pay to Jacob
Young thirteen pounds ten shillings to be delivered over to
Shoaf Thomas, five Pounds for Leonard Sturm, two Pounds
fifteen shillings for John Carnone, Thirty seven Pounds ten
shillings for Basil Johnson, Three Pounds seventeen shillings
& six Pence for Mary Denwoolf, Three Pounds for Saml Ma-
gruder, nine pounds six shillings for Jacob Lease four Pounds
ten shillings for Jacob Tyler and Thirty seven Pounds, five
shillings for Powel Larham per Accts passed by A. G.

[Council to Smallwood.]
In Council Annapolis 16th June 1778.
Sir.
James Mason the Bearer of this of the second Maryland
Regt has called here on his way to Camp and solicited a Dis-
charge from the Service; he says that he was inlisted in Wat-
kings's Company and has received no Bounty or since inlisted,
that Colo Price agreed, if he would procure another Man to
inlist in his Stead, that he would discharge him and that, ac-
cordingly, he procured one William Norton to inlist in his
Stead, for which he gave him £5; That notwithstanding he,
as well as Norton, have served ever since, and that Capt
