In Council 12th June 1778.
Sir
We have sent Richard Murrow in one of the State Boats,
to receive what Bacon you have purchased. Should there not
be sufficient to load the Vessel, you will be so good as to
direct him to the nearest Place where the Provisions are col-
lected, to compleat his Load, provided the Quantity wanting
to make the Load, is considerable. We have sent you three
Bushels of Coarse Salt, as you requested some might be sent.

Saturday 13th June 1778

Present as on yesterday.
On hearing and considering the petition of Jeremiah Pearle
of Frederick County and the Certificate and Affidavit
therewith Lodged it is adjudged by this Board that the
Adjudication of the aforesaid Jeremiah Pearle's being a Vag-
rant be and is hereby set aside and he is hereby ordered to
be discharged.
Ordered That Mr Crysall deliver to Captain Matthews, 2
barrels of Beef one Barrel of Pork, one Barrell of Beans, one
Barrel of flour one Barrel of Whiskey and four Barrels of
Bread for the Galley Independence.
Samuel Harley who was taken up in Prince Georges County
as a Deserter from the Independent Company heretofore
commanded by Major Allen Thomas Appearing on Examina-
tion of his Allegations and especially from the Information of
Major Thomas, to have been discharged from the Service
soon after his Enlistment he is therefore discharged by this
Board.
Ordered That the western shore Treasurer Pay to Edward
Hagan Fifteen Pounds, fifteen shillings due him per Certa
allowed by the Aud Genl
Mr Lloyd from the House of Delegates delivers to the
Governor certain Resolves requesting the Governor to give
every Assistance in his power to the Purchase of Horses for
the use of the Army but that he put an immediate stop to all
seizures in Virtue of Authority from the Board of War to
Maj. Lee of the Light Dragoon.
