[Circular to Purveyors.]

Circular. In Council Annapolis 6th June 1778.
Sir
A Letter received yesterday from the Board of War makes
us still more desirous that the Provisions purchased should be
sent forward with all Expedition. We wish you to embrace
any Opportunity that may offer; to send any salted Meat you
may have, to this Place or Charles Town, or the Head of Elk
River, the latter Place to be preferred, or, if no Opportunity
offers and you can make out a Boat or Shallop Load, that
you'll engage a Vessel on purpose, to carry it to the Head of
Elk or, if one cannot be hired that you'll apply to a Magistrate
for a Warrant to have one pressed. We are more particu-
larly anxious about the Bacon which we are afraid may spoil
before it will be used. Advise us as soon as may be of any
Quantity you may send off and to what Place.
