6th June 1778.
I have had the honor to lay your letter of before
Congress & I am instructed to acquaint you that they have
already expressed their sentiments upon bills not essentially
different from those Acts in a publication of y" 22d April last.
Your Lordship may be assured that when the King of G.
B. shall be seriously disposed to put an end to the unpro-
voked & cruel war waged ag' these United States Congress
will readily attend to such terms of peace as may consist with
the honor of independant nations, the interest of their con-
stituents & the sacred regard they mean to pay to treaties. I
have the honor to be &c

Monday 8th June 1778.

Present as on Saturday
Commission of a Letter of Marque and Reprisal issued to
John Fanning Master of the Schooner called the Baltimore
mounting four Swivels navigated with six men belonging to
Samuel Hughs and others of Baltimore
Ordered That John Berryman deliver to Mr Christopher
Hughes the four two or three pounders on board the Johnson
with their Carriages all which are to be replaced in a few
Days
Ordered That the western shore Treasurer Pay to William
Molohon Thirty four Pounds seventeen shillings and six

Pence for expenses of bringing Recruits from Saint Marys

County to Annapolis as per Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to Rezin Hammond Esqr six
pounds five shillings for the use of Thomas Sollars per Acct
passed by the Aud. Genl
Commission issued to Thomas Grason appointed Commo-
dore agreeable to a Resolve of the General Assembly passed
21 April last.
