    ances of Of- &ca was signed by his Exncie this day in Councill,

    ficers passed and Ordered to pass the Great Seale and be de

    the Seale livered forthwith to the Sherriffe of St. Maries p. 4

   

    County to Publish according to the Usuall forme. The same

    follows in these Words.

    Prociama- Whereas by the death of his Exncie Lionel Copley

    tinuance of Esq their Majties late Capt Gen and Governo in

    Officers &Ca chiefe in & over this their Province of Maryland, and

   

    the absence of Capt ffrancis Nicholson, their Majties Lieveten

    ant Governor of the same, The Chiefe Comand and Governmt

    of the said Province is cothited to the Charge and Conduct of

    me Sr Edmund Andros Knt (their Majties Lievetenant & Gov

    ernr Generall of their Colony & Dominion of Virginia) by their

    Majties Royal Coinission vnder their Signet & Signe Manuall

    beareing Date the third day of March 169 1/2 in the ffourth

    yeare of their Reign to me directed, with Relation to their

    Majties Comission to the said Lionel Copley made Letters

    Patents, beareing Date the 27th day of June in the third yeare

    of their Reign, and their Comission to the said ffrancis Nich

    olson vnder their Signet & Signe Manuall beareing date the

    24th day of ffebruary in the fourth yeare of their Reign, pro

    duced & read to and by their Majties Councill of this Province

    this day in Councill siting: I have (by & with the advice of

    the said Councill, vpon my Accession to the Command &

    Governrnt aforesd) thought fit to Proclame & declare, and doe

    hereby publish & make knowne, that all & singular their

    Majties Magistrates, Ministers & Officers civill & Military with

    in this Province are & doe stand & Remaine continued & con

    firmed in their respective places and Offices aforesd Until

    further Orders; hereby straightly Chargeing & enjoyning them

    and every of them respectively to Execute & performe the

    Duty of their respective places & Offices aforesd as formerly

    they have or ought to have done; Willing alsoe & command

    ing all and singular their Majties loveing Subjects of the said

    Province, and all others whome it may concerne to take due

    Notice hereof, and yield all ready obedience therevnto, as they

    will answer the contrary at their perills, To which End I doe p. 5

    straightly Charge & Command all & singular the Sherriffes of

    the respective Counties of this Province to make publick Pro

    clamation hereof in the most publick & convenient places

    within their respective Counties.

      Given at the City of St Maries the 25th day of September,

    Anno Domini 1693: in the ffifth yeare of the Reign of our

    Soveraign Lord & Lady King William and Queen Mary.
