all the Officers that upon the least Suspicion of Counterfiet Lib. H. D. Certificates for discharge of any Navigation Bonds, they Cancell not the Bonds till it be further Certifyed from the Commissionrs That publick inquiry be made whether there be any prsons that are of the Courts of Law or of the Treasury that hold any Trust in this Province that are Scotchmen &ca. That the Clause about Ships and Vessells Names &ca being p. 439 Registred be sent to be published in every County Court. Deer the 14th 1696.
Ordr abt Vpon a Report made by Mr Attorney and Sollic Mr Attorney . . . . & Soil icitor itor Genll unto this Board concerning their inspection Genll Report into a late Act of Parliamt (intituled an Act for pre
venting ifrauds and Regulating abuses in the plantation Trade) Whitehall Ordered that the following Clauses be made publick Vizt That by the sd Act it is declared that in all Cases where any Ship or Vessell is pretended to belong to any Plantation &ca Oath is to be made thereof as in the Act is directed and must be Registred by and before the Govern' and Principall Officer of his Mats Revenue, and being so Registred and Attested by the Governr or such principall Officer one part thereof shall be delivered to the Master of such Ship &ca and another part thereof transmitted to his Mats. Commrs of his Customs in London; and if any Ship is taken at Sea as Prize and brought into any Plantation &ca for Condemnation, the same Oath must be made and Certificate thereof transmitted as aforesd and upon any alteration of any Ships Name or transferr of property the Same Ship shall be Registred de novo and Copy transmitted as aforesd. That by another Clause of the Whitehall sd Act it is declared that after the making the sd Law, all places of Trust in the Courts of Law or what relates to the Treasury
