Lib. H. D. the making this Act; all places of Trust in the Courts of Law or what relates to the Treasury of the said Islands shall be in the hands of the Native Born Subjects of England or Ireland or of the sd Islands, and that no persons be permitted to Serve as Jurymen upon any Information brought but what are as afore expressed. By another Clause it is declared that where at any time Bonds of Navigation &ca are taken in the plantation &ca the persons therein Sureties are to be prsons of known Ability and Resident in the sd Plantation &ca And the Condition of the sd Bonds shall be within Eighteen months after the Date thereof (the danger of the Seas Excepted) to produce CeEti ficate of having Landed and discharged the Goods therein mention'd &Ca Whitehall By another Clause of the sd Act it is declared that in all Cases where any Ship or Vessell is pretended to belong to any Plantacon &ca Oath is to be made thereof as in the Act is directed and must be Registred by and before the Governr and principall Officer of his Mat Revenue, and being so Registred and Attested by the Governr or such principall Officer, One part thereof shall be delivered to the Master of such Ship &ca and another part thereof transmitted to his Mats Commissionrs of his Customs in London and if any Ship is taken at Sea as Prize and brought into any Plantacon and for Condemnation the same Oath must be made and Certifi cate thereof transmitted as aforesd and upon any Alterations of any Ships name or transferr of Property, the same Ship &ca shall be Registred de novo and Copy transmitted as aforesd There are Severall other Clauses in the sd Act Some of them directive to the Judges, Some to the Officer and some to the parties Concern'd which we doe not Conceive to be Comprized within the Tenor of yor Exncys charge to Us but this is what we Conceive particularly to Relate to the Gov ernmt of this Province and which is humbly Submitted to your wisdom by your Obedient Servts George Plater Wm Dent
The sd Report was Approved off and it was Ordered thereon as it is hereby Ordered that an Ordr go to the Navll Officers to give Security persuant to the directions of the afore recited Act of Parliamt. ‘[hat it be Referred to the Lawyers to inquire whether there is any Law of this Countrey Repugnant to the sd Act Whitehall and the other Acts of Trade now in force That an Ordr go to
