    mation to be given to the good people of this Province where Lib. H. D.

    they ought to Apply themselves for the Recording of their

    Patents for Land according to his Mats pleasure by the

    aforesd Ordr Signifyed; I have (upon application of the

    sd Sr Thomas, by and with the advice of his Mts honrble

    Councill and according to the Opinion of Mr Attorney

    and Sollicitor Genll therein here had) thought fit to Notifye

    and make known that his Mats sd Ordr directs all Patents for

    Land to be Recorded in the Land Office among the rest of the

    Records there now in the Custody of the sd Sr Thomas to the

    End all persons concern'd may make their application accord

    ingly, hereby strictly charging & Commanding the Severall

    Sherriffs of the Province to publish this in all Church's Chap

    pells and other publick Places of meeting within their respec- p. 412

    tive Counties; Given at the Port of Annapolis under the Broad

    Seal of the province this 12th day of October in the Eigth year

    of his Mats Reign Anno Domini 1696.

       Patents for Lands &ca Ordered that noe person for the future imploy'd or

   

           Concern'd for the Rt honrble Charles Lord Baron of

    Baltemore Lord & Propry of this Province or his Agent, abt

    the issueing out Patents for Land within this Province do

    prsume to deliver any of the same to the parties concern'd,

    untill they have been Recorded in the Land Office, among the Whitehall

    other Land Records, remaining in the Custody of the honrble

    the Secretary according to the directions of his Mats Royall

    Ordr in Councill of the of ffebry last past.

   

   

    Mr Dent Mr Wm Dent being appointed Navll Officer of

       Potomoke District, in the Room and Stead of Mr

    of Poto- Philip Clark Reed a Commission from his Exncy for

    mock the Same & at the Same time gave Bond for his due

   

    discharge of tht trust.

   

   

    Mr Denton Henry Den ton being appointed Navll Officer of

       appointed Navll Officer the Port of Annapolis in the Room and Stead of

    of the Port Capt Richd Hill Recd a Commission from his

    of Annapolis for the same, having Enter'd into Bond with one Whitehall

   

           Sufficient Security for his due discharge of that trust.

      The sd Denton makes Oath to two Lists of Shiping & an

    Accot in full of what he has been concern'd with as Depty Col.
