    Lib. H. D. bound unto his Exncy ffrancis Nicholson Esq his Mats Capt

           Ge&' & Cheif Governr of this Province in the ffull and Just

           sum of One Thousand pounds of lawfull money of England to

           be paid to the sd ffrancis Nicholson Esq his Exrs Admrs or

           Assignes to the wch paymt well and truly to be made we bind

           our Selves & Either of Us by himself our & Either of our heirs

           Exrs & Admrs Jointly & Severally for the whole and in the

           whole ffirmly by these prsents witness our hands and Seals

           this Tenth day of Octo. 1696.

             The Condicon of this Obligacon is such that whereas his

           Exncy ffrancis Nicholson Esq aforesd hath Commissionated and

           appointed the sd Henry Denton to be Navall Officer of the

           Port of Annapolis within the sd Province by his Commission

           bearing Equall date with these prsents, Now if the sd Henry

           liJenton shall well and truly perform the Office, according to

           the severall Acts of Parliamt in tht Case made and provided &

           shall observe the directions contained in the Acts of Assembly

           of this Province relating to the Duty of Navll Officers & from

           time to time Save defend and keep harmless the sd ffrancis

           Nicholson Esq from all damage loss and charges that he the

           sd ffrancis Nicholson Esq shall sustain at any time by reason

           of the sd Dentons non performance of his sd Office (so long as

           he shall Enjoy the Same) as is in the sd Severall Laws Enacted

           and Ordained Then the above Obligacon to be void & of none

           Effect otherwise to be & remain in full force & Virtue.

           cers Bond     Dent and Edward Boothby of the Province of Mary

           &caland Gentl. are holden and ffirmly bound unto his

    

           Exncy ffrancis Nicholson Esq his Mats Capt Genll & Cheif

           Governr of this Province in the ffull & Just Sum of One

           the sd ffrancis Nicholson Esq his Exrs Admrs or Assignes to the
