       Produced and Read the following motion of the honrble Sr Lib. H. U.

     Thomas Laurence Barront Secretary, Vizt Whitehall

       Sr Thomas Laurence humbly moveth yor Exncy and this

     honrble Board.

     Motion of That Whereas his Mats Ordr in Councill of the

     Sr Thomas h

     abt his Mats 13th of ffebry 1695, and which was Recorded in the

     Ordr    Councill Book May the 20th 1696, hath setled the

     Councill Land Office in this Province, a Publick notification

    

     thereof may be made that all Patents which have been passed Whitehall

     since the coming in of the sd Ordr of Councill may be Recorded

     in the Secretaries Office and that Coll: Henry Darnall & Mr

     Carroll may be cautiond not to deliver any Patents to the Par

     ties concern'd till they have been Recorded in the sd Office

     according to his Mats Ordr

                                   Thomas Laurence

       The which was by Ordr indorsed as followes, Vizt

    

    By his Exncy the Governr and Councill &cca    p. 411

                    October the 9th 1696.         Whitehall

    

       Ordered that the within matter be Referred to Mr Attorney

     & Sollicitor Genll for them to make Report what is proper to

     be done therein, Referring them to Consult his Mats Royall

     Ordr in Councill.

     Mr Attorney To his Exncy in Councill.

     & Sollicitor

     Genii Report I am humbly of Opinion that the properest Method

     upon the ordr of to be taken is by a Proclamation to Notifye to all

     Councill persons what places their Patents are to be Recorded

     &cca in; and also a precept to my Lords Agent &cca not

     to deliver any Patents till they be Recorded in the Secretaries

     Office as his Mats Ordr directs, which is humbly Submitted to

     yor Exncy by

       Ordered that a Proclamation and precept issue accordingly.
