The Councill again Sate and were prsent as Yesterday Whi;ehail except Esqr ifrisby.
Whereas upon perusall of the Severall County county Court Leavys it is thereby found that Severall per- Courts abt sons have taken upon them to demand and actually the publick . d allowances. Receive Tobacco Leavyed by the Justices of the s County Count, and the sd Justices to make allow- p. ances to persons for sundry things contrary to Law, it is therefore considered by this Board and Ordered that no allowances (for the future) be made in the publick Leavys of the Counties where the Law does not expressly direct the same, unless it be for fixing the publick [Arms] and for the necessary charge of conveying them &ca or some allowancc given towards maintenance of their poor &cca or to the persons or Officers tending upon the sd Courts according to fformer Whitehall Custome, but that the latter be in no respect allow'd unless the ffixing the publick Arms &cca as aforesd be taken care off; hereby Commanding the Sherrifis to publish this Ordr at their Severali County Counts. Produced and Read a certain RepresentacOn or complaint of the Bal. County Burgesses unto the house of Assembly (which was from thence referred unto his ExncY) relating to the Delaware Indians molesting their parts by hunting &cca setting forth that they were Aliens and therefore under no Articles of peace with this Governmt the Burgesses were sent for and asked their Opinion what Remedy they thought most suitable Whitehall in this behalfe, who after having given their Opinions and the sd matter being maturely Debated & Consulted it was Resolved and Ordered that a Copy of the sd paper be sent to the honrble William Markham Esq Lt Governr of Pensilvania, desireing him to cause the same to be communicated to the sd Indians and to know of them what they have to say in Excuse of what is Complain'd agt them; and Mr Boothby Signifying that he is shortly designed for Pensiivania is Ordered to Carry the Same, & to discourse Governr Markham abt it; the sd Com plaint followes in these words, Vizt

sentatives for the County of Baltemore by the
inhabitants thereof that the Delaware Indians a people as well Whitehall Aliens to Us in point of Trade as for that they were never yet Allied to Us by any League of ffriendship or Treaty Entered
