    time may have the opportunity of going under the sd Captt Lib. H. D.

    Pellews Convoy, otherwise will not be permitted to Sayle

    before the ffleet.

    

   

   

         By his Exncy the Governr &cca Augt the 1st 1696.

   

  Ordr for the Ordered that the Collectors and Navll Officrs of

           the Severall Districts & ports within this province

    abt the Gage take Care to give Notice to all Masters of Ships

    of Tobo hhds

           now in the Countrey and which shall hereafter

    come in, tht they Omit not to measure, either by themselves,

    or Some Officr or Officers of their Ships thereunto appointed

    every hhd: of Tobo by them taken on board, pursuant to his

    Exncys proclamation for that purpose formerly issued and Sent

    and tht they Suffer no Ship to be cleared without making

    Oath or bringing such persons as measured the sd hhds to

    make Oath that the same were by them measured accordingly

    who are also to give upon Oath an Exact Accot of the Size of

    the same. And further Ordered that four bills for the future

    be taken for all Duties &cca by them Secured to be paid.

   

   

         By his Exncy the Governr &cca Augt the 4th 1696.

   

    Ordrs for his Ordered that the Collectors (upon their Accot of

    Exncys Lrs to

    be Secured     Lrs &c. taken from the Severall Masters of Ships

    by thepursuant to the late Ordinance of Assembly) secure

    Collectors

    and Safely lodge in their Offices all such Lrs as they

    shall find directed to his Exncy unless the partys bringing them

    in do Ingage to Come with them themselves; otherwise to

    Remain in their sd Offices untill an opportunity of Speedy and

    Safe Conveyance Offers.

   

   

   

           By his Exncy the Governr &c. Augt 14th 1696.

   

    Ordr for the Ordered that the Sherriffs of the province do p. 385

    Sherriffs to -        .  .

    give Notice immediately (upon sight hereof) give notice to the

    to the But. Severall Burgesses and Delegates of Assembly &

   

      gesses & Delegates & membrs of his Mats honrble Councill living within their

    his Mats respective Counties that his Exncy having Recd his

    honrble Coun-             .  .

    cill &c abt Mats Royall Commands thinks it necessary (for his

    the meeting Mats and Countreys Service) that they meet and Sit

   

  Assembly.   at the Port of Annapolis the 16th day of Septembr

           next, pursuant to prorogation & appointmt whereof
