   ceiving themselves, to have sufficiently advanced towards the Lib H. D.

   assistance of New York; Especially having paid to the Gov

   ernmt 130 odd pounds more than what his Sacred Maty hath

   been pleased to declare should be in lieu of the Quota from

   this province do not think themselves Obliged any wayes to

   contribute thereto untill his Mats Royall pleasure shall be

   further declared therein; which this Province with all Obe

   dience will wait for.

   Governrof Complaint being made unto me and his MatS p. 370

   Carolina abt honr Councill by Majr Thomas Ennalls of this

   the portugueez boy province part ownor of the brigantine called the Hare

  

          whereof one Jeremi: Waters is Mastr who tooke from

   the Ile of Madera's a portugueez boy agt his Consent whose

   parents made Complaint to the Bishop of that Island upon

   WCh two English Merchts Richd Miles & Rich: Bell are likely to

   Come to great trouble. The Sd Ennails tells us that his Master

   inform'd him that the sd Portugueez boy was taken from him

   some time last Spring by Yor honrs Ordr as also forty Shillings

   and we are acquainted by a Gentleman here prsent that he saw

   the Sd portugueez boy in Carolina.

     The Request of Thomas Ennalls is that the sd boy may be

   deliver'd to the bearer hereof in Ordr to be Return'd

   to his parents that those Gentlemen in Madera may Come to

   noe prejudice by it.

     Your Honrs Ordering that the portugueez boy be deliver'd

   up will be a peace of Justice and an Obligation to Yor humble

   Servant                         ffr: Nicholson
