      Lib. H. D.     Said Salter for breach of the sd Agreemt by taking Tobacco

            for Repairs when he was bound to keep it in Repair by that

            Agreemt.

              Mr Brough the former Tennant is asked whether the Sal

            ter made any objection when he Surrendred the Same house

            up to him, who Says he did not.

     

              The honrble Coll David Brown Came & was Aded.

      Whitehall Read the following Deposition, Vizt

     

              The Deposition of Thomas Roberts of Baitemore County

            Aged fforty Years or thereabouts.

     

     

                     This Deponent Sayth.

            Tho: Roberts That Capt Oldtons party of Rangers being at one

            Deposition abt Capt time in; and the Leivets party out upon Ranging, he

     

            Oldton did not goe out to Reieive the Leivetents party accord

            ing to appointmt Whereupon the Leivtents party came in, and

            so both parties were in at one time.

              That the sd Rangers do not live at the place Set!ed beyond

      Whitehall the inhabitants, but that they Come in among the inhabitants

            and further Sayth not.

     

     

                       July the 3d 1696.

     

              Sworne to before his Exncy in Councill by the abovesd Thomas

            Roberts.

                                    Hen: Denton C of Concil

            CaPt     Oldton Ordered that Capt John Oidton Commander of

     

               As. the Party of Rangers in Baltemore County make

            wer in writ- answer in writing to the above Deposition, & that

             for the future he take care that they live all together

            Deposition; at the place Setied beyond the inhabitants, and that

               and Instructions abt his while the one party goes out a Ranging the other party

     

            Ranging keep Constantly at the Garrison and that they go

            out upon a Munday and Return upon a Saturday (except some

            extraordinary occasion happen out) and so keep together at

      Whitehall the Garrison all Sunday, and then the other party go out again

            the next day.

              That he take Care to Return an Accot of his Ranging at least

            once a Month, if opportunity happens, pursuant to former

            Instructions which thing he has not yet Observed nor Corn.

            piyed with, That if those Persons now under his Command will

            not accept to Comply with this and the former Instructions

            that he get other Persons that will accept thereof.
