Produced & Read a Letter by the honoble Coll John Addison Recd of yesterdays Date from Charles County, giving an Accot of one of the Men belong ing to the Garrison there being lately killed by Indians; Ordered therevpon that the sd Coll Addison go & inquire of the Emperor of piscattoway there about & forthwith give Notice of the sd Murder to the inhabitants of the Colony of Virginia & Raise Ten or a dozen men to secure the Garrison whilest the Rangers go out in pursuit of the Murderers, and that he furnish them with powder & Amunition necessary; and if occasion Require, to Raise more force & send his Exncy speedy Word, who will come in person. Coll Beale Coll Ninian Beale was sent for who came, vnto Order'd.to Raise Men whom the aforesd Letter was also Read; Wherevpon vpon the his Exncy told him, tht he being more peculiarly Corn- Whitehall casion,if missionated to looke after such like Matters, was necessary therefore Ordered to take all speedy & imaginable care therein, and to Raise what Men he found necessary vpon that occasion.
