     Edwd Greens Upon reading a Letter produced from Edward Lib. H. D.

     Lre touching      . .

    2 sprig Green of the thirtieth of Aprill last, vnto his Excell Whitehall

            sent and directed setting forth the late casting up of p. 335

            two sprig Whales vpon the Sea side, in Somerset

    

    

     County; Ordered that the honoble Coll George Robotham

     Judge of the Court of Vice Admiralty on the Eastern shore

     have inspection into that matter, and that Copy of the sdl Greens

     Commissions from his Excell for Wrecks and Drift Whales

     &ca be given him together with the said Letter for him to

     take such care therein as the Law shall direct.

    

    

                      May the 13th 1696

    

       The Councill again Sate & were prsent as before.

       Produced & Read a Proclamation drawn, vpon a proposall Whitehall

     made to the House, relating to the encouraging the inhabi

     tants of the two ports of Annapolis & Williamstadt, which

     was signed by his Exncy & passed the Broad Scal of the Prov

     ince The said proclamation follows in these Words, Vizt

    

     

               By his EXnCY the Capt Genll &ca

                 Proclamation

    

     Proclamation Whereas for the future Encouragement of the

      inhabitants living within the two ports of Annapolis

     tants of An- & Williamstadt it hath been considered that a dis

     Williamstadt pensation of a certain Act of Assembly of this

             province Entituled an Act ag' Engrossing &

     Regrating towards the inhabitants of the aforesd two ports Whitehall

     & Towns would conduce much thereto; Whereupon

     a proposall to that intent being laid before the house of Bur

     gesses by the Honoble his Mats Councill of this province and

     on both sides Agreed to and passed into an Ordinance, I

     have therefore by advice thought fit to Notify and make known,

     and I do hereby accordingly proclame & declare that all per

     sons actually inhabiting and Residing within the Port & Town

     of Annapolis & Port & Town of Williamstadt aforesd may

     (for the future) freely deale for, Bartar & Buy any manner of

     Goods Wares and Merchandizes whatsoever there imported

     & sell & dispose thereof again at pleasure, any thing in the

     sd Act contained to the contrary thereof notwithstanding p. 336

     Provided the sd persons so dealing, buying and selling do

     actually live and Reside with their ifamily within one of the

     aforesd ports and not otherwise; And that due Notice may be

     given, I do hereby Command the severall Sherriffs of the prov
