Protection, whereof at this time We have had a most Signal Evidence by the happy discovery of a Traiterous and wicked Design against the Life of his most Sacred Maty by assassination and for the Subduing these King- p. 3 domes by the ifrench in Conjunction with other conspirators many of whom are Secured in Ordr to be brought to speedy Justice; as the attempts of our fforrign Enemies have been disappointed by the preparacons that have been made against them by Sea and Land, We doe hereby in his Mats name, and by his Express Command Signifye the Same to you that you may forthwith make known So Wonderful a deliverance to all his Mats good Subjects, under your Governmt the Particulars whereof & proceedings, thereupon are more at Large Sett fforth in the Enclosed paprs And because upon this Occasion, and for the better Manning of the Royal ffleet to Oppose the Enemy, His Maty hath found it absolutely necessary to Lay a General Embargoe for Some time upon all Ships outward bound and tradeing to his Mats Plantations, We have thought it Requisite to dispatch this Express to You for the prevent ing any Malitious or Mistaken Informations, and for the Satisfaction of the Inhabitants of the sd Plantations, not doubting but you and they will heartily Joyne with us in Expressions of Thanks to Almighty God for So Great a Blessing in the Preservation of his Mats Sacred Person and Governmt And So we bid you very heartily ifarewell; From the Councill Chamber at Whitehall this tenth day of March 1695.
