Lib. C. B. Sr Edmund Andros, and therefore Resolved that an Express be forthwith sent to his Exncy in Order thereto to know his Exncies pleasure therein and that a Letter be sent to the Gov ernoe of New Yorke to signifye to him, that at present they cannot give any further Answer but will by Express send by or before the first of May next. Mr Parkers The humble Petition of William Parker read, Pet read & Referred desireing therein Comission to Execute the Office of
&ca high Sheriffe of Calvert County for the yeare ensue ing and is referred for Answer to be Given him the next meeting of the Councill.
Mr Platers George Plater Esqr their Majties Collector for Representation abt Petuxunt District Represents to this Board that sev Navigation erall Navigation bonds being in his custody for which Bonds &ca & Nolle p there have been noe Certificates returned according sequi to the Law in that Case therefore does humbly Move Ordered . thereon &ca that consideration may be had concerning the same & directions given him what most convenient & suitable methods to take therein. Resolved & Ordered therevpon as it is hereby Ordered that the said Mr Plater give speedy Notice to all persons any wayes concerned or interested in the said Bonds, and that they p. 43 have Twelve Months time allowed & given them from hence- forward to comence for procureing Certificates as aforesd and that all such bonds in the interim be suspended from being put in suite, without which it is the Opinion of this board that severall persons in the Countrey here will be lyable & exposed to Ruine; and it is hereby further Ordered that what Bonds are not at present in the said Mr Platers possession be forthwith delivered him by all & singular their Majties Collectors within this Province, or other Person or Persons in whose custody they shall be found.
Mr Plater The said George Plater does likewise Represent
Collector of that whereas he had received a Comission from the P?tornack present Governmnt for being Collector of Potomack District &ca District vpon the death of Coll Blackiston late Col
lector of the same—And whereas Edward Randolph Esqr their Majties Surveyoe Genll has since by an Unknowne Authority, not appearing to this Board, Granted a Comission to one Philip Clarke fully thereby Empowering him to Act as Collector in the aforesd District, whoe therevpon has put in Execution the said Comission by entering & clearing of severall ships, notwithstanding the Governmts Coniission to him the said Plater granted; Upon the whole matter it is the Opinion of
